Busy June

We've been keeping pretty busy the past couple of weekends with Jamie's graduation and Ben's birthday. Two weekends ago we drove up North to attend Jamie's graduation from San Francisco State. Can we just say that this was the longest graduation that any of us have ever been too....and between all of us we have been to quite a few. We left the house on Saturday morning at 10 am and didn't arrive back until 5 pm. Crazy!! Here are a couple of pictures from that day......

Ben insisted that I post these before and after pictures of my trip to the port-a-pottie. I avoid public restrooms at all cost (see past post) but had no choice in the matter this time. Ben would like to point out how hesitant I look in the first picture as we are going in (while my sister is an old pro and has no hesitation) and my disgust after the port-a-pottie experience. Ben had a field day playing with our new camera and somehow managed to take 92 pictures - half of which were of the most random things (imagine a close up picture of the head of the man sitting in front of us and a picture of the cameraman "chillin"). And last but not least here's a picture of the graduate with our parents.

For all of you that have been asking....during our trip up North, Ben managed to take a couple of profile pictures of the baby and I while we were watching my dad pick pai pa go (loquots in English) for us to take home.

This past weekend, Ben celebrated his 32nd birthday. For his birthday we went to Porto Alegre Churrascarria Brazilian BBQ, where Ben consumed a tremendous amount of meat....it was amazing!! He was so stuffed he couldn't eat his birthday cake so we had to wait until the next day.....
We're heading up North once again next weekend to Sacramento where we'll meet up with Ben's parents and Bubba and Ray on Friday night. Then on Saturday, we'll be celebrating Leah's 30th birthday and Gabe's 1st birthday. And of course, since we'll be in Sacramento we will be making a couple of trips to my favorite ice cream parlor.......Leatherby's!!!

Those bathroom pictures are pretty great! I mean public restrooms is one thing but you must have been down right desperate. Wonder if the Little Mr. Deneen is laying on your bladder. You look great in the pictures. We need more of those, though. How else will we measure the belly progress?

You look great Jennifer! Can't wait to see you this weekend. The port-a-pottie pics are hilarious. They look kind of funny lined up next to the seats. Who would want to sit so close to them. Imagine if the wind happened to blow in the direction of the seats! Grossing me out just thinking about it.

Also, please wish Ben a Belated Happy Birthday from us! For once we'd like to wish someone happy birthday on time! It is not that we don't care but that we have no concept of time. (I understand how it can totally suck to have your birthday forgotten, I think it was birthday 28 or 29 when I didn't get a single happy birthday except from Jethro. Even my parents forgot! But I have no right to complain cause I'm guilty as well.) We're horrible at keeping track of dates. Just the other day Jethro asked me (cause he was too ashamed and embarrassed himself) to find out when his mom's birthday is! He thinks it could have been in May and we missed it.)So, please know that from us a belated happy birthday means even more than one on-time since it is accompanied by lots of guilt as well as well-wishes.

Congratulations to you guys..I just talked with Leah and we are all hoping the best for the 3 of you...I had to comment to tell you, that BEN you look good, too, even for 32...and Michelle, if you look alittle closer there isn't anybody sitting in those chairs next to the port-a-potties.
Leah probably doesn't remember, as she was very young, but soon after we moved here and I was working on building a Wastewater Treatment Plant in Pea Ridge, AR (back then they were called Sewage Plants, but I guess that's too gross)..but there is a guy and that is his job to clean those things out..anyway we (me, MJ, Leah and I think even a very young Mae) were at the jobsite and the guy who cleans the port-a-potty out was there with his family and wanted me to take a picture of him doing his job..of course I did and I think he had me take a family portrait type picture (of his family, of course), so now I have to go thru my photos to see if I can find evidence that that really happened. Sorry Leah, I guess that's kind of embarrassing..it's Michelle's fault...or maybe Ben's for taking the P-O-P pictures in the first place..you need to post the picture of the guys head.
Best of luck,
Gabe's Gdad
