A Wedding and a Swim Lesson

This past Sunday we went to a wedding of some friends of ours. The wedding was beautiful and we had a great time hanging out with our friends. The mother of the groom is a good friend of mine and I offered to make the wedding cake. I made marble cupcakes (groom liked chocolate and bride liked vanilla) with cream cheese frosting and made some chocolate butterflies for decorations. Here are some pictures of my adorable Riley in his Hawaiian shirt!

Today was the first day of Daddy and Riley swim lessons at CalTech. Riley loves the water so we thought he would love going to swim lessons. He had a great time splashing around, playing with his toys, and "surfing" on his kickboard! Daddy had just as much fun!

A Year Ago Today...

...our beautiful little boy was born. What a difference a year has made. We celebrated his special day with some friends at Chuck E. Cheese. He was once again spoiled!

First Haircut, First Kid's Meal, and First Birthday Party!

This past month has been a month of firsts......

It took awhile for Riley's hair to come in and when it finally did, it came in weird patches. We took Riley to the Yellow Balloon for his first haircut to even things out. He had a great time flirting with the other customers and loved the yellow balloon he got after his haircut!

Riley is quite adventuresome when it comes to trying new foods. If you put anything near his mouth he'll eat it! After his haircut we decided to go to Chili's for some lunch. Since neither Ben nor I were ordering something that he could eat we decided to get him his own meal off the kid's menu - mac and cheese and mash potatoes. Contrary to the picture below, he loved it and had a great time eating his lunch!
Riley always makes this face when he takes a bite of something for the first time (even if he has had it before and likes it!)

We celebrated Riley's First Birthday on June 28th in Fremont. Thanks to my sisters, cousins, and parents the party went off without a hitch. Riley loved seeing everyone and had a great time being passed from one person to the next. He was incrediably spoiled by everyone and we now have a whole toy store in our house! Thanks everyone for coming and spending the day with us. Here are some pictures from the big day!
